Jk Marble & Granite

If you ever find yourself on Main Dadri Road, you’ll see Jk Marble & Granite right there, basically opposite the police chowki in Salarpur. It is a very dusty place, mostly because of all the stone we have sitting around the yard. The police chowki is a good landmark because otherwise, all these shops on the road start to look the same after a while. We have these massive slabs of marble and granite leaning against the walls, and they stay cool even when the sun is beating down on the road. The traffic on Dadri Road never really stops, so there is always this hum of engines and the occasional siren from across the way. We don't have a fancy showroom with bright lights. Most people just walk in through the open front, stepping over the bits of gravel and stone dust. It’s a heavy job, moving these things around, and the staff usually has white dust on their clothes by noon. The office is just a small corner partitioned off so we can keep the ledgers somewhat clean. It gets noisy when the saws are running or when a truck is being loaded up, but that is the sound of business for us. We just stay here in Salarpur, dealing with the heavy lifting and the heat, making sure everything is where it needs to be. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy from morning till the sun goes down.
