Flavors Of Italy

This is Flavors Of Italy, and we are based out of House No.44 in the D.D.A Flats at South Enclave, Ambedkar Nagar. It’s not a big restaurant in a mall; it is right here in the residential blocks. Working out of a DDA flat means we are very close to the people living here. You can hear the sounds of the neighborhood all day, kids playing and people talking in the hallways. Our kitchen is where everything happens. We spend most of our time preparing things and getting orders ready for delivery or for people who live nearby. It smells like herbs and cooked dough most of the time, which the neighbors seem to like. The space is small, so we have to be very organized. We don't have a big staff, just a few of us who know how to cook. We buy our supplies from the local markets when we can. It’s a very hands-on kind of job. There’s no corporate office or managers in suits telling us what to do. We just look at what needs to be cooked and we do it. Sometimes the water pressure is low or the gas delivery is late, and we just have to deal with it. It’s just a honest way to earn a living in New Delhi. We don't have fancy menus with photos, just real food made in a real kitchen.
