We are based on the fourth floor of a building in Kalkaji, J-2/10, not too far from the Alaknanda Market. It might seem like a strange place for a seafood business, being up on the fourth floor in the middle of a busy residential and market area, but it works for us. We don't keep the actual fish here, obviously. This is where we handle all the paperwork, the shipping logs, and the export details. The office is usually filled with the sound of phones ringing and printers going. We spend a lot of time talking to suppliers and making sure the cold chain isn't broken. It’s a lot of logistics. Sometimes the lift in the building acts up and we have to walk the stairs, which is a bit of a workout. We’ve got maps on the walls and folders stacked high on every desk. Most of us have been working in the seafood trade for years, so we know the drill. It’s not a glamorous job. It’s mostly checking temperatures and verifying documents so everything gets to where it needs to go on time. The Alaknanda Market area is always lively, so there’s plenty of places to grab a quick snack when things get too hectic. We just keep our heads down and make sure the exports are moving correctly. It’s a steady rhythm we’ve got going here every single day of the week.
