We’ve been here in this basement on Bazaar Lane for quite a while now. If you know the Jain Mandir in Jangpura, we’re just right there. Most days it’s just us working through a pile of engineering drawings or fixing parts that people bring in. The space isn't huge but it gets the job done. It gets a bit crowded when the deliveries show up at the door. There’s always someone around, usually covered in some kind of grease or dust from the machines. We keep things pretty simple here. We don't have a big fancy office with chairs for everyone, just the workbenches and the tools we need. Sometimes the light in the basement isn't the best so we have to use extra lamps to see what we’re doing on the smaller components. People from the neighborhood know where to find us if they need something looked at. It’s a busy spot near the temple so there is always noise from the street coming down. We just focus on the task in front of us until the day is over. It’s not a glamorous setup but it’s ours. We spend a lot of time double-checking measurements and making sure things fit right before they go out. There is always tea being made in the corner because the days can get long. We’ve seen the lane change a lot over the years but we’re still here doing the same kind of work every morning.
