Shakumbhari Farmers Producer Company Limited is located at Shop-1 in V.P.O. Thana Chappersaraswati Nagar. It’s a small shop in the village, nothing fancy. We chose the name Shakumbhari because it feels right for our area. Thana Chapper is a place where everyone is tied to the land one way or another. We use the shop as a central point for all the farmers to meet up. It’s easier than trying to find people out in their fields. Saraswati Nagar is a nice area, but the work is still hard. We spend our time figuring out what seeds to get or how to manage the harvest. Having a physical shop makes it feel more real for the local folks. They can walk in and ask about what we are doing. We don't have any polished speeches or corporate goals. We just want to make sure the farming around here stays viable. Most days it’s just about dealing with the local market and the weather. We keep the books in the back of the shop. It’s a bit dusty, but that’s farming for you. We are just regular people from the village. There’s no need to make it sound like more than it is. We work together because it’s better than working alone. If you're in Thana Chapper, you've probably seen us around. We’re just trying to make the most of what we’ve got.
