You can find us at Vijay Singh’s place, house number 378 in Bijoli, near Gola Kuva in Kharkhauda. It’s a local operation, nothing fancy. We started Kharkhauda Farmer Producer Company Limited because we saw that we were all facing the same problems with our crops. It’s easier to handle things when you’re part of a group. We spend most of our time out in the fields around Bijoli. We don’t have a dedicated office building with a receptionist. If you want to talk to us, you usually have to find us working or wait until we’re done for the day. We deal with whatever is in season. Sometimes it’s wheat, sometimes it’s something else. We don’t have any marketing brochures or big promises to make. We just work the land like our fathers did. It’s tough work and the sun is hot, but it is what we know. We share what we have and try to get the best out of the soil. Some days things don’t go as planned, like when a machine breaks down or the market prices drop, but we just keep going. People around here know us as neighbors first and a company second. We just want to make sure the farming stays sustainable for everyone in Kharkhauda. It’s just us, doing our best with what we’ve got.
