Sonbhadra Jeevika Mahila Kisan Producer Company Limited

We are over by the Old G.T Road. The office for Sonbhadra Jeevika Mahila Kisan Producer Company Limited is in Lord Krishan Lodge, which is near the Shershah Hotel. There’s a canal, the Bedan Nahar, right nearby too. It’s a historic sort of area with all the trucks passing by on the main road at all hours of the day. The lodge itself is where we set up our base. It’s a bit of an old-fashioned spot, but it serves our purpose well enough. We are a women’s producer group, and most of us live in the villages around here. We spend our days going over the farming schedules and making sure the supplies are moving correctly to the right people. It gets very dusty with the traffic from the G.T Road, but we’re used to that by now. Inside the lodge, it’s a bit quieter than out on the street. We have our meetings in a small room where we talk about rice, wheat, or whatever is currently in season. It’s definitely not a fancy corporate environment. We mostly use our local dialect and just get straight to the point about the work that needs doing. Sometimes we walk down to the canal when we need a break from the paperwork or the afternoon heat. The hotel nearby is a good landmark for people who haven't visited us before. It’s just us trying to manage the farming collective the best we can without making things too complicated for anyone.
