Our company, Bahori Lal Farmer Producer Companylimited, is situated in the village of Arniyan in Aligarh. Harpal Singh is the one who helps us get everything organized from his place. Aligarh is a busy city, but out here in Arniyan, everything revolves around the fields and the crops. We started this whole thing because we saw that most of us were struggling to get what we needed. Whether it’s getting good seeds or just trying to find a buyer who won't cheat us, it is always a struggle. We are not big-shot business people. We are just farmers who know how hard it is to survive on your own. We spend a lot of time just chatting with the other guys in the village and seeing who is having trouble. It is a very hands-on way to run a business. We don't have a receptionist or a fancy website to show off. If you need to find us, you usually have to look in the fields or stop by Harpal’s house in the evening. We try to keep things as simple as we can. There is no point in acting like we are something we aren't. We are just neighbors from the village looking out for one another. It is a lot of work on top of our regular farming, but we are doing our best. We just hope that by working as a group, things will get a little bit easier for us.
