Amol Dhange

Solapur is a busy city, and Guruwar Peth is right in the middle of all that noise. My name is Amol Dhange, and this is where I’ve set up shop at house number 156. It’s an old building, but it has character and it’s been in the family for a bit. I don't see the point in moving to some fancy new mall when all my regulars are right here. We do things a bit differently than the big shops. I don't have a secretary answering phones. If you call, you’re probably talking to me or maybe my brother if I’m out grabbing lunch. We work long hours because that’s what it takes to keep things running. Solapur heat can be tough, especially in the afternoons, so we take a small break then. But usually, you’ll find the shutters up early. I’m not interested in making some big name for myself. I just want to make sure the work is solid so people come back next time. Sometimes the traffic on the street outside gets so bad it’s hard to hear anything, but we manage. We’ve had some rough patches, like when the roof leaked last monsoon, but we fixed it up eventually. It’s just a normal, local business. Nothing more, nothing less. If you need something, just walk in. We don't need appointments or anything like that. Just simple work for local people. It's been this way for a long time now.
