Out here at Gat No. 186 in Upali, we run Krushinandini Farmer Producer Company Limited. Being in the Sillod taluka means we are right in the middle of a lot of agricultural activity. We are basically a group of farmers who got together to see if we could manage our work more efficiently as a team. Most of our days are spent checking on the crops and making sure everything is growing like it should. We aren't some distant company with a big marketing budget. We are just the people you see in the fields every day. Our setup is pretty basic, just enough to get the job done and keep things organized. It gets pretty busy during harvest time, and that is when you really see everyone pulling their weight. Sometimes we sit around and talk about the rain or the lack of it, and how that affects what we can sell. It’s practical work, and it’s what we’ve always done. We don't have a lot of time for polished meetings or corporate talk. We just focus on the task at hand. If you are ever passing through Upali, you’ll find us working away. It’s hard to explain exactly what every day looks like because it changes with the seasons. But it’s always about the land and the people we work with. We just try to keep things moving and support each other where we can.
