Nabaji Patil Agro Producer Company Limited is situated in Wangital, which is part of Sillod. We are set up at Narayan Nabaji Kakde’s place. It’s a simple arrangement because we don't need a big, expensive office. We are a company made of farmers. Most of us have been tilling the soil in this area for years. We decided to come together as a producer company to make things a bit easier for everyone in the village. It is hard work, especially when the rains are late or the prices for our crops aren't what we hoped for. We spend most of our time out in the fields or meeting at the office to discuss our plans. There aren't any fancy chairs or air conditioning here. It’s just a place to sit and talk business. Sillod is our home, and we know the land here very well. When people look for us, they usually just ask for Narayan’s house. We don't do much advertising. We don't have a website with lots of pictures. We just rely on each other and our hard work. It’s a practical way to live. We are not trying to change the world, just trying to make sure our families and our neighbors can get a fair deal for what they grow. That is what we are about at Nabaji Patil Agro. Every year is a gamble with the weather, but we just keep doing what we've always done.
