Prince School

It’s just us here at Prince School on Palwas Road. People in Sikar know this area well, it’s usually busy in the mornings when the buses come in and the rickshaws drop off the students. We’ve been around for a bit. The building is what you’d expect for a school around here. We have classrooms, a bit of space for the kids to run, and the usual desks and chairs. It gets really hot in the summer months, so we try to keep the fans running and the windows open. Parents come by to talk about their kids' grades or just to drop off a lunchbox they forgot at home. We spend a lot of time checking notebooks and making sure the bells ring on time. Sikar has many schools, but we just focus on what's happening inside our own four walls. Teachers here live nearby mostly. We walk to work or take a scooter. The playground gets dusty, but that's just part of life in Rajasthan. We don’t have fancy stuff, just books and blackboards and teachers trying to get through the syllabus before the exams start. It’s a lot of work keeping up with the kids, especially the younger ones who have so much energy. We stay open until the afternoon, then it gets quiet once everyone goes home. It’s a normal place, really. We just do our jobs and try to keep things organized. If you’re walking down Palwas Road, you’ll see our front gate. It’s nothing special to look at, but it’s where we spend our whole day.
