Arawali Veterinary College

We are located out on NH-52 near Bajor, which is a bit of a drive from the main part of Sikar. If you see the Goyal Petrol Pump, you know you’re almost at our gate. Being a veterinary college, our days are a bit different than a normal school. There’s usually some dust blowing in from the highway, and we have people coming in with their animals at odd hours. The students spend a lot of time in their white coats, sometimes in the labs and sometimes out back with the livestock. It’s a practical kind of place. You might see a cow being treated or students studying anatomy in the classrooms. It gets really hot in the summer out here in Rajasthan, so we try to do most of the outdoor work early in the morning. Our staff stays busy with the animals and the paperwork for the university. The canteen is a popular spot because there isn’t much else around this part of the highway to eat at. We’ve got a lot of books in the library that look a bit worn out from all the use by the students. It’s a quiet place mostly, except for the sound of trucks passing by on the main road. Students come from all over the state to study here, so the hostel is always full of life. It’s hard work, but everyone just gets on with it without complaining much.
