Mahatma Gandhi Group College

Mahatma Gandhi Group College is located right on Nh 11 in Pura Ki Dhani, Sabalpura. Being in Sikar, we deal with a lot of dust and sun, especially since we are so close to the highway. You can see the college from a distance because there aren't many tall buildings around here. The trucks roar past all day on the NH 11, and that sound becomes like background noise after you've been here a week. The college itself is a cluster of buildings that we've added to over the years as we needed more space. It’s a bit of a walk from the main gate to the offices, and in the summer, that walk can be quite hot. We have a lot of students who come in from the surrounding villages in Sabalpura. The classrooms are simple, with big fans that we keep running as much as possible. Our desks are the sturdy wooden kind that have seen a lot of use. We don't have a fancy canteen, just a basic place to get some tea and snacks. The staff is mostly local, and we all know the struggle of the Sikar heat. We don't try to be anything we're not. We’re just a college out on the highway trying to give the local kids a place to study without having to travel all the way to a big city. It’s hard work, but it’s our life here.
