Thirumala Traders

You can find Thirumala Traders at 445-8, Savalanga Road, Durgigudi. We have been here for quite some time, and the shop has become a regular part of the neighborhood. We trade in all sorts of general items that the local people and other small businesses need. The shop is not very large, so we have to be clever about how we stack the boxes to make sure everything fits. Most days start with us opening the shutters and sweeping the front steps before the traffic on Savalanga Road gets too heavy. We do not have any big corporate policies or mission statements. We just try to be here when people need us and keep our prices as fair as we can. A lot of our customers are people we have known for years, so we often spend more time talking about family than we do about business. The back room serves as our tiny warehouse, and it is usually a bit of a mess, but we know exactly where every item is kept. Sometimes we have a cup of tea with the delivery drivers while they wait for us to check the invoices. It is a simple way to earn a living, and we do not have any plans to change how we do things. We just want to keep the shop running and serve the people who walk through our door every day.
