Toshali Royal View Resort

Toshali Royal View Resort is located in Shilon Bagh, on the road between Kufri and Chail. The pin code is 171012. It is quite a drive to get up here, and the roads can be a bit rough depending on the weather. We are tucked away from the main city of Shimla, so it is a lot quieter here. The air is always cold, even in the summer, so we spend a lot of time making sure the heaters are working and that there are enough blankets in the rooms. Managing a resort in the mountains isn't easy because getting supplies delivered can be a real headache if it snows or if there is a landslide. We have a lot of stairs and paths that we have to keep clear of leaves and pine needles. The building itself is older, and you can tell by the way the floorboards creak sometimes. We have a staff that stays on the property, and we are like a small village out here. In the mornings, you can see the mist coming off the trees, which is nice, but mostly we are just busy with laundry and fixing things that break. Guests come here to get away from the heat of the plains, so we try to keep the tea hot and the rooms ready. It’s a simple life, just looking after the place and the people who visit.
