Hotel Kalra Regency

Our hotel is situated up in Chotta Shimla on the Kalra House Estate. We are on the Shimla East side of the town. It is a bit quieter here than the main mall road, which a lot of our guests seem to appreciate. The air feels a bit fresher up here. We have had this estate for a long time, and the hotel part is just our family business. The building fits in with the older style of Shimla architecture. It isn't a modern hotel with lots of fancy gadgets or elevators. It’s more like a large traditional house that has rooms for people to stay in. We have a nice view of the hills when the weather is clear and the clouds aren't too low. It can get quite cold in the winter months, so we keep plenty of blankets ready. Our zip code is 171002. We handle all the work ourselves, from making the tea to cleaning the rooms. It’s a real family-run operation. People come here to get away from the big crowds in the center of Shimla. The walk down to the main areas isn't too far, but coming back up can be a bit of a hike. We don't have any big neon signs. It’s just a steady, quiet place to stay and look at the trees. We’ve seen many seasons pass by from these windows. It’s a simple life in the mountains.
