We're set up at A/1, 210 Bally Towers, on the fifth floor. It’s one of those buildings that everyone in the area recognizes, which makes it easier when we’re giving directions to new drivers or vendors. Working for Lafarge India Pvt. Ltd. from this location keeps us right at the heart of things. The elevator in the building can be a bit slow during the morning rush, so some of us just take the stairs if we aren't carrying anything heavy. Our office isn't very large, but we’ve managed to fit in everything we need to keep the operations running smoothly. We spend most of our hours looking at spreadsheets and talking to the warehouse managers. It’s a lot of coordination work, making sure the building materials get delivered to the various construction sites on time. The view from the window is mostly other buildings and the street below, which is always packed with cars. We don't have any big mission statements on the walls or corporate jargon in our emails. We just talk like normal people and try to solve problems as they come up. Sometimes the phones don't stop ringing all afternoon, and other times it's quiet enough to actually get through the filing. We just take it day by day and try to make sure we don't miss any details. It’s a steady job in a busy part of town and we like it here.
