We are located in Laban, Shillong, right at the house of Dr. W. Nongrum near Harisabha. It is a hilly area, so the roads are winding and can be a bit steep for those not used to it. The office itself is not some big glass building you see in the cities. It is just a regular place where we manage the cement business for this part of Meghalaya. We deal with a lot of paperwork and tracking the trucks that bring the loads up the mountains. The weather here is often wet, and the mist rolls in quite early in the afternoon sometimes. It makes the work a bit slower, but we are used to the pace of life in the East Khasi Hills. Inside the office, things are kept simple. We have our desks, some old cupboards for files, and a space to sit when people come by to talk about their orders. We don't go in for anything flashy. Most of our day is spent on the phone or checking the delivery logs. It is a small team here, and we all know each other well. We have been part of this neighborhood for a while now. People know to look for the Harisabha landmark if they are trying to find us. It’s just a practical spot where we get the daily tasks done without much fuss. We try to keep things moving despite the rain and the hills.
