Lafarge Cement

Our office is tucked away in the Hotel Pollo Tower area in Shillong. It’s a bit of a climb up here, but the air in Meghalaya usually stays cool, which makes the workday easier. Lumpl is a busy little pocket of the city, and being near the hotel means there’s always people moving around. We spend most of our mornings looking over the paperwork for the cement orders and answering calls from sites across the hills. It is a different kind of pace than the big cities, but we still have plenty to do. The roads around here can be tricky, especially when the clouds roll in low, but the trucks still manage to make it through. We’ve been at this location for a bit, and most of the locals know where to find us if they need to talk about a delivery. It isn't a large operation inside the tower, just a few desks and some filing cabinets full of records. We drink a lot of local tea to stay warm while we coordinate the logistical side of Lafarge Cement. Sometimes the traffic on the way to the tower gets backed up, but we just work around it. It’s a steady routine of managing schedules and making sure the supplies reach the construction spots. We don’t use any fancy systems, just the basic stuff that works for us and our neighbors here in Shillong. It’s just how we get things done.
