The Art Of Kashmir

We are up on the third floor of Surya Towers, specifically in room 306. S.P. Road is right outside, so it’s a central spot to be in. The building is usually quite busy with people coming in and out of the different offices. Our space is filled with things from Kashmir. We have piles of textiles and various items stacked up against the walls. It can get a bit messy when we are sorting through new arrivals. The smell of the fabrics is the first thing you notice when you walk in. We don't have a lot of fancy displays or bright lights. Most of the time, we are just sitting at the main table checking the inventory or wrapping things up for customers. The windows look out toward other buildings in the complex. Sometimes the elevator takes a while, so we end up taking the stairs if we are in a hurry. We’ve been in this office for a while, and the walls are starting to show some wear and tear, but it’s a comfortable place for us to work. We keep a small radio in the corner that we play quietly while we handle the daily chores. It is a straightforward operation where we just focus on the items we have. There are usually a few open boxes on the floor waiting to be sorted through before the day ends.
