Meenakshi Exports

Out here in Malkajgiri, specifically at 8-95 in Sri Venkateswara Nagar, things move at a certain pace. Meenakshi Exports is basically a house that turned into a workplace over time. You’ll find rolls of fabric and boxes packed for shipping stacked up in almost every corner. It’s a local operation, and we usually have a few people from the neighborhood helping out with the packing and the labels. The sun hits the front of the building pretty hard in the afternoons, so we usually keep the shutters halfway down to stay cool. We don't have a big corporate lobby or anything like that. You just walk in past the gate and you’re right in the middle of the mess. We spend a lot of time on the phone with vendors and checking if the trucks are going to arrive on time. Sometimes the labels get mixed up or a shipment gets delayed, and we all have to scramble to fix it before the day ends. It’s honest work, mostly involving a lot of tape, bubble wrap, and checking lists twice. The tea break at 4 PM is the only time the place actually gets quiet. We’ve been in this street for so long that even the delivery drivers don't need to look at the map anymore. We just keep our heads down and try to get the orders out of the door without too much fuss.
