We’ve been operating Eman Housing Development Pvt Ltd out of this small office on Maruthi Street for a good while now. Secunderabad has changed a lot since we first set up at 7-1-488, but we’re still right here in the middle of it. Most days start early with a lot of tea and looking over site plans. We focus on building houses around Hyderabad and the nearby areas. It’s a lot of running around from one site to another, making sure the brickwork is right or the plumbing is getting done. We aren’t a huge corporation with fancy glass walls; it’s just us working out of a regular building where the neighbors know us. Sometimes the power goes out or the street gets flooded during the heavy rains, but that’s just how things go in this part of town. People stop by to ask about plots or how their construction is coming along. We try to keep things simple and honest. Dealing with land and permits in Andhra Pradesh takes a lot of patience, and we’ve learned that the hard way over the years. We just take it one project at a time. It isn’t always glamorous work, especially when the dust is flying at a new site, but seeing a roof finally go up makes the long hours worth it. We just do what we do and try to get home for dinner on time at the end of the day.
