Foxnut Agro Private Limited is based out of Pardeep Kumar’s place in Madanuchakmirjanhat. We are right in the middle of where foxnuts, or makhana as we call them, are a big deal. It’s a private company, but don't let the name fool you into thinking we are some big corporate setup. We are mostly just people from the neighborhood who know how to handle these seeds. It’s a messy job, getting them out of the water and then through the heat to get them to pop. We spend a lot of time in the sheds and out by the water. Pardeep manages the day-to-day stuff from his location. We focus on getting the makhana ready for people to eat. It involves a lot of sorting by hand and making sure nothing goes to waste. The village life here is simple, and our business reflects that. We don't use big words or have complicated rules. We just get the work done. The heat from the roasting part of the job is intense, but it is part of the routine. People around Madanuchakmirjanhat know us as the makhana folks. We take the raw stuff and turn it into something useful. It’s hard work, and our hands show it, but it’s what we do to support our families. We aren't looking to change the world, just to provide good makhana from our little corner of the country. Every bag we pack is done with care.
