Sant Kabir Farmer Producer Company Limited is located at Ishwar Chandra’s place in Kurthiyapipra Kalan. This is our base for everything we do. We named it after the saint because he’s important to people around here. We are just a group of producers trying to make a living. Farming in this area has its ups and downs. We deal with the same problems every year, like getting the right supplies on time. By forming this company, we can buy things in bulk and help each other out. Our office isn't much to look at. It’s functional and that’s all we need. We sit around and discuss the plans for the next season. There’s a lot of coffee and tea involved in these meetings. We aren't corporate people. We wear our work clothes and we have dirt under our fingernails most of the time. That’s just the reality of life in Kurthiyapipra Kalan. We focus on the practical side of agriculture. We don't have a big marketing plan. We just want to make sure the work is steady and the farmers get what they need. It’s a local operation, run by people who actually live here and work the land. We take things one day at a time and try to keep everything moving forward for the whole group. It is hard work but it is our way of life.
