Jayeka Jeevika Mahila Kisan Producer Company Limited is a group of women farmers based in the Gayatri Nagar area. We are situated right near the Siddharth Cinema, which most people around here know well. Our workspace is part of the District Project Coordination Unit. It is a busy place because we have a lot of women coming in from different parts of the district to coordinate their farming activities. Farming as a woman has its own set of challenges, so we decided to form this company to stand together. We deal with all sorts of local produce and try to figure out the best ways to get things from the field to the market. The office near the cinema is where we hold our meetings and keep our records. It’s not a polished corporate environment, just a place with some desks and a lot of talk about seeds and soil. We work closely with the Jeevika project, which has been helping women in our region for a long time. Every day is a bit different; some days we are sorting out finances, and other days we are just catching up on how the local crops are doing. We get our hands dirty and make sure that every woman involved gets a fair shake. It’s a lot of hard work, but being together makes the burden a little lighter for everyone.
