Valliamman Steel

You can find Valliamman Steel over at No. 30/52-B in the Devangapuram Extension area of Shevapet. It’s a part of town that has a lot of history and a lot of small businesses like ours. Our building isn't much to look at from the outside, but it’s where we spend all our time. The street can be a bit narrow, so when we get deliveries, it can be a bit of a tight squeeze for the trucks. We’ve lived and worked around Shevapet for a long time, so we know most of the neighbors. We don't use any fancy business talk here. We just talk like regular people because that’s who we are. Inside, the shop is full of steel. We try to keep it sorted so we can find things when someone asks, but it’s a working space, so there is always a bit of a mess. Dust is just part of the job when you deal with metal all day. We open up in the morning and stay until the work is finished. There isn't a marketing department here; it’s just the same few faces every day. We handle the orders, load the material, and keep the records in our ledger. It’s a simple life, but it keeps us busy. Being in the Devangapuram Extension means we are part of the local fabric, and we just want to keep doing our thing without any big fuss.
