Tastemakers

You can find Tastemakers at No-1/82A in Angavel Nagar, which is part of Alagapuram. We’ve been here for a while, working out of this space. It’s a pretty quiet neighborhood for the most part, which is good for us. We focus on food stuff, mostly flavors and things that make food taste better, hence the name we picked. It’s not a huge place, just enough room for our equipment and some storage for the ingredients we use. We spend a lot of our time experimenting with different mixes. Sometimes things don't turn out right, and we have to start all over again. That's just how it goes when you're working with tastes. The smell in the shop is usually quite strong, sometimes sweet and sometimes spicy. The local folks often ask what we are cooking up today when they walk past. We don't do much in the way of marketing or big advertisements. Most of our customers are local businesses who have known us for years. We just try to keep our quality steady. It’s me and a couple of assistants who handle everything from the mixing to the packing. We get the supplies delivered early in the morning and then we just get to work. It’s a decent way to earn a living, and we enjoy being part of the Alagapuram community. No big corporate goals here, just making good stuff that people actually like to use for their own cooking.
