Sri Sellaiamman Sago Factory

The factory is located at 108, Ganthinagar, over in Authur. If you have ever been through this part of the country, you know that sago is a big deal here. We have been running Sri Sellaiamman Sago Factory for quite a while now. It is a lot of hard work, honestly. The process of turning the roots into starch and then into those little white pearls takes a lot of time and patience. Our place is usually pretty busy with workers moving things around and the sound of the machinery going in the background. It gets quite dusty, and when the weather is humid, the drying process takes much longer than we would like. We don't have a big corporate office or anything like that. Most of the time, you will find us on the floor checking the quality or out back seeing to the deliveries. People from the neighborhood often walk past and see the bags being loaded onto the trucks. We just do things the way we were taught. It isn't a glamorous job, but it is what we know how to do. The Ganthinagar area is quiet enough, though the factory itself is never really silent during the day. We have a small group of people who have been with us for years, and we just try to keep things moving as best as we can without too much fuss.
