Sri Meenakshi Dhall Co.

Sri Meenakshi Dhall Co. is located at 15, Gorikadu. We are right in the Manipram area, along the Suramangalam Main Road. It is a very busy road with lots of trucks and buses passing by every minute. The noise of the traffic never really stops until very late at night. Inside the shop, it always smells like pulses and dried grains. We have big burlap bags of dhall stacked up against the walls. Sometimes the dust from the bags gets in your nose and makes you sneeze. We have to sweep the floor several times a day to keep it neat. We’ve been at this address for many years now. People know us as the place on the main road with the heavy doors. The building is a bit old and has some cracks in the plaster near the ceiling. We don’t mind it much because it’s a workplace. We spend the whole day weighing out portions for people who come in. Sometimes the old scales need a little tap on the side to settle properly. We have a small back room where we keep the extra stock out of the sun. It is a bit dark back there. We use a small wooden stool to sit on when there are no customers around. Suramangalam is a fast-paced part of the city. Being at 15 Gorikadu means we see everyone passing through on their way somewhere else.
