Sri Arunagiriyar Modern Rice Mill

You can find Sri Arunagiriyar Modern Rice Mill at 5(4) Nallamuthupillai Road in Mahali Patti. It’s a local operation, and we’ve been part of this community for quite some time. The mill itself isn't a high-tech facility, but we have the equipment we need to get the rice processed properly. We spend most of our time on our feet, moving between the dryers and the hullers. It can get pretty loud and hot inside during the summer months. We don't have air conditioning or anything like that, just some big fans to move the air around. We mostly work with farmers from the surrounding areas who bring their paddy to us. It’s a lot of heavy lifting and keeping an eye on the clock. We don't have a fancy reception area. If you come by, you’ll probably see us covered in a bit of dust from the husks. We aren't trying to impress anyone with how the place looks. We just want to make sure the rice is clean and ready for market. There’s a certain rhythm to the work that we’ve gotten used to over the years. We take things as they come and try to be fair with everyone who walks through our gates. It’s not a complicated life, just a lot of hard work and making sure the bags are weighed right before they leave Mahali Patti. We just keep at it day after day, making sure the job gets done right.
