Shanthi Sago Factory

We are Shanthi Sago Factory, and you can find us at number 41 on Salem Road in Andagalur. This place has been around for a long time. It is a factory, so it is not exactly the cleanest or quietest spot to spend a day. We deal with sago, which means there is a lot of starch and water involved in everything we do. The road outside is usually busy with heavy trucks going toward Salem. We spend our time checking the machines and making sure the drying process is going right. It is a lot of physical work for everyone. We do not have a marketing team or anyone to write fancy things about what we do. It is just a bunch of people who know how to make sago properly. The air here usually smells a bit like the raw roots we use. It is a very specific smell that you get used to after a week or two. Andagalur is a small place, so word gets around fast if you are not doing your job. We just focus on the daily tasks. Sometimes the equipment breaks down and we have to spend the whole afternoon fixing it. That is just part of the life here on Salem Road. We do not really change much from year to year. We just keep making sago like we always have. It is what we know. The building is old.
