Programmer

Our office is located at 187/28A on Post Office Street in Shanmuga Nagar. This is right near the Dadagapatti Gate area in Salem. We go by the name Programmer, though if you walked by, you might just think it’s another regular house on the street. It is a very local neighborhood where everyone seems to know what everyone else is doing. We have a couple of rooms that we’ve turned into a workspace, filled with old desks and some plastic chairs that have been around for a few years. It isn’t the kind of place you see in a magazine. There are cables running across the floor and stacks of old newspapers in the corner. We spend most of our time here just working through the tasks of the day. The street outside is quite busy because of the post office nearby, so there is always a lot of coming and going of people and scooters. We don't have any fancy titles or a corporate structure here. We are just a few people who know how to do our jobs. Sometimes we take a break and sit outside on the steps to watch the traffic for a bit. The weather in Salem can get really hot, so the fans are always spinning at full speed. It is a simple, practical way to work. We don't try to be anything more than what we are—a small business doing our thing in a quiet part of town.
