Janakarajan Dhall Mill

We are situated at No. 167 on Ittery Road in the Meyyanur area. It’s a busy spot with lots of vehicles moving through. Janakarajan Dhall Mill is a place where we do a lot of physical labor. The machines are old but they still work fine for what we need them to do. We spend our mornings unloading sacks and our afternoons getting everything ready for the next day. Ittery Road has its own rhythm, and we are just a small part of it. The mill gets pretty loud when everything is running at once, so we have to shout a bit to hear each other. We don't have any air conditioning, so we just leave the big doors open to catch whatever breeze comes down the road. It’s a bit of a messy job sometimes, but we don't mind getting our hands dirty. Most of us have worked here for years and we know exactly how each machine sounds when it’s running right. We keep a stash of water in the corner because it gets thirsty work. There isn't a lot of space for sitting down, but we find a spot on the sacks when we need a break. Meyyanur is a good place to be, and we are happy enough with our spot on Ittery Road. We just keep our heads down and do the work that needs to be done every day. It's a living and it keeps us occupied.
