Our place, Golden Gardens Processed Food, is located at 81/10 in Valavanthi Combai. It is a bit of a drive through Kalapanaickenpatti to get here. We deal with food processing mostly. The area is quiet compared to the main cities. We have our machines and the staff comes in from the nearby villages. It’s a lot of work getting the produce ready and making sure everything is packed up right. The weather here can be quite hot, so we have to watch the timing of everything we do. We started this because there was a need for it in this part of the region. Most of our days are spent checking batches and making sure the loaders are on time. It is not always easy managing a factory in a place like Valavanthi Combai. Sometimes the power goes out or the trucks get delayed on the narrow roads. We just deal with it. We are not some huge corporation with offices in every city. It is just this one spot where we do all the work. The people who work here have been with us for a long time. We know each other well. We just keep our heads down and focus on the food products we are making. Every day is pretty much the same routine. We open up, get to work, and try to finish before it gets too late.
