Balaji Dhal And Flour Mill

Our mill is situated at No: 3/396 on Puthur Itteri Road in Nethimedu. Being a dhal and flour mill, things can get a bit dusty around here almost every day. You can usually hear the machines running from the street if you are walking by the front gate. Balaji Dhal And Flour Mill has been part of this street for a long time. It is a loud place when the grinders are going, so we do not do much talking while they are on. We spend our days handling heavy sacks of grain and making sure the machines are working right. There isn't much to the building itself, just a big open space for the equipment and some storage in the back. We do not have any fancy air conditioning, so we keep the big doors open to let the air in. In Nethimedu, people know us as the place where the flour smells fresh in the mornings. It is hard work and it gets quite hot, especially in the middle of the day when the sun is out. We do not have a big staff, just a few of us who know how the machines should sound when they are running properly. Sometimes a machine breaks down and we have to spend half the day fixing it ourselves. That is just part of the job here. We are not some big factory, just a local mill trying to do things the regular way.
