Star Handicrafts

Star Handicrafts is located down in Lane No 3 of Sabri Ka Bagh. To get here, you have to go through Gotey Shah Ki Chungi, which is near the Mandi Samiti Road. The lanes are quite narrow, so it is better to walk once you get close. We have a small space where we work on different types of handmade items. It is not a factory by any means. It is just a few of us sitting on stools and working with our hands. We use whatever materials are available to make things that people might find useful or nice to look at. The area is always full of life, with neighbors talking and goats roaming around. Inside our shop, it is a bit more quiet, except for the sound of our tools. We don't have a big sign or any kind of advertisement. Most of our work goes to local markets or people who know us from the area. The air is often filled with the smell of whatever we are using that day, maybe paint or wood. We drink a lot of chai to keep ourselves going. It is a family thing for the most part. We learned these skills from the older folks. We don't think about being the biggest business. We just like making things and staying busy in our little corner of Sabri Ka Bagh.
