R.A. Handicrafts is tucked away at Plot No.37 in Sabri Ka Bagh. We are right near the sweatshop, so the area is always full of people moving back and forth. Our workshop isn't very large, but we make do with the space we have. There are usually three or four of us working at any given time. We have piles of materials stacked up against the walls, and sometimes it feels a bit cramped when we get a lot of supplies in. We don't really have a front desk or a receptionist. If you come by, you just walk in and find someone working on a bench. We spend a lot of time just focusing on the details of what we are making. It’s slow work sometimes, but that’s the nature of it. We don't use a lot of big machines, mostly just hand tools that have been around for years. The neighborhood is lively, and there is always some noise from the street or the neighbors. We’ve lived and worked around here for a long time. It’s not a fancy life, but it’s a steady one. We don't put out brochures or advertisements. We just rely on the work to speak for itself when people see it. It’s just a small local place where we put in our hours and go home to our families. We like it that way.
