Naveel Wood Handicrafts

Naveel Wood Handicrafts is located right at Naya Bagh Chowk. If you know the area, you know it can get pretty crowded, especially on market days. Our workshop is usually full of wood shavings and the sound of tools. We’ve been working with wood for years, and it’s a job that keeps your hands dirty. There’s always a pile of timber waiting to be cut or finished in the corner. The shop isn't very large, so we have to be careful about where we put things. People walk by all day, and sometimes they peek in to see what we are making. It’s not a quiet place, but the noise of the street blends in with the work we do. We don't have a big fancy sign, just the name on the door. Inside, it smells like sawdust and polish all the time. My family has been doing this kind of thing for a long time, and we just kept going with it. We don't spend money on advertising; most people just hear about us from their neighbors or see us while they are walking through the chowk. It’s a simple setup, and we like it that way. When the power goes out, which happens sometimes, we just sit outside and wait or do some hand sanding. It’s just the way life is here in the neighborhood. We focus on the wood and try to get the orders finished on time.
