R. L. Card House

If you walk down West Market Road and turn into the by lane in Upper Bazar, you will find R. L. Card House. It is a bit tucked away, and the lanes around here are quite narrow, so it gets very crowded with people and carts. Inside our space, there are stacks of cardstock and sample books everywhere you look. During the wedding season, things get really chaotic and we barely have room to move around. We spend our days checking proofs and making sure the names are spelled right on the invitations. It is a lot of repetitive work, but we are used to it by now. The lighting in the shop isn't the best, and the fans make a clicking noise that we have stopped noticing. We have been here in Upper Bazar for a long time, so we have seen the market change quite a bit over the years. We usually have our lunch sitting right at the main desk because there is nowhere else to go. Sometimes customers come in with very specific ideas and we have to tell them what will actually work on paper. We don't use any fancy sales talk here. People just come in, look at the books, and we tell them how long it will take. It’s a simple way of doing things and it works for us and the locals.
