New Sampa Mess & Hotel

Our place, New Sampa Mess & Hotel, is tucked away on Rampyari Devi Path in the Gwala Joli area of Ranchi. It’s right off Ratu Road, which most people know is a pretty active part of town. We run it more like a mess than a standard hotel, focusing on simple meals that people can eat every day without getting tired of them. It's a family-style operation where we do most of the heavy lifting ourselves. The building is older, and the kitchen is always humming with something on the stove. We don't have a big fancy menu with dozens of items. Instead, we stick to what we know how to cook well. People come here when they want something that reminds them of home cooking. It's not a place for a formal dinner, just a spot to sit down and eat. We keep the chairs and tables clean and make sure there's enough for everyone. Sometimes we run out of certain items if the day is busier than we expected, but that's just how a small mess works. We’ve been part of this neighborhood for a bit now, and we like the rhythm of Ratu Road. It’s a lot of work, but we take it one day at a time. No big plans or complicated systems, just keeping the stove hot and the doors open for whoever needs a meal during their workday.
