Shri N D Raval New English High School

Being located right on Dam Road means there is always a bit of noise from the traffic outside. Shri N D Raval New English High School is tucked into Sahajanand Park, which is a decent enough neighborhood in Surendranagar. The building is a solid, multi-story structure that we try to keep as clean as we can, though the dust from the road always finds a way in. We have the high school sections here, so things are usually a bit more serious than a primary school. The kids are older and they mostly focus on their books. The hallways are long and have a few posters on the walls about different subjects. We don't have any of those fancy smart boards or computer labs that look like they belong in a movie. It’s just regular classrooms with enough desks for everyone to sit down. Surendra Nagar can get incredibly hot during the middle of the day, so we have fans in every room that hum away while the teachers speak. The staff room is a small place where we keep our bags and have a bit of tea during the break time. Most of our students live within walking distance, so you see groups of them heading home together once the final bell rings at the end of the day. It’s a very normal, local life here. We’ve been part of this community for a long time and the parents seem to appreciate having a place like this close by.
