Dr. J D Kothari Madhyamik Shala

Chuda is a small place in Surendranagar and our school has been a fixture here for quite some time. We are named after Dr. J D Kothari. It’s a secondary school, so we see a lot of kids in that middle age range where they’re starting to grow up. The school building is located right in the heart of Chuda. It’s a solid structure, though it shows its age in a few spots. We have a central courtyard where everyone gathers. Every morning we have the students line up there. It’s a bit of a routine that hasn't changed in years. The walls are covered with some old charts and drawings the kids made. We don't have a huge staff, just a handful of us who manage everything from the teaching to the paperwork. The desks are a bit worn down but they still hold up. Most of the parents around here are workers or small business owners, so they want their kids to get through school and find a good path. We spend a lot of our day just making sure the classes stay on track. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we just open the doors wider to get some light. It’s not a fancy life, but it’s what we do. You’ll usually find a few of us hanging around the front office after the final bell, just tidying up before we head home ourselves. It’s a simple school for a simple town.
