Shree Swaminarayan Vidhya Mandir

Located right on National Highway No 8 in Gondal, our school is a familiar sight for anyone driving through Rajkot. The traffic goes by constantly, but once you step inside the gates of Shree Swaminarayan Vidhya Mandir, it’s much quieter. We have a lot of space here, which is lucky. The building is large and we have a lot of students coming from all over the district, some staying in the hostel facilities we have. Life here follows a very specific rhythm. We wake up early, there are prayers, and then the lessons start. The stone floors stay cool even when the sun is beating down on the highway outside. We have a big kitchen because feeding hundreds of students every day is a massive job. The food is simple and traditional. The teachers and the administration staff mostly live on or near the campus, so it feels a bit like a small village of its own. We have a big playground where the boys play cricket in the evenings, and you can hear the shouting from quite a distance. It isn't a fancy place with air conditioning everywhere, but it's sturdy and serves its purpose. We spend our time checking uniforms, making sure the prayer hall is ready, and keeping the students focused on their studies so they can do well in life and make their parents proud.
