Our place is located in GIDC Metoda, over at Lodhika. We take up a few plots from G-2732 to 38, right near Topaz Cement. It’s a big area, so there is plenty of room for the trucks to pull in and out without getting stuck. Working with cement means everything stays a bit gray around here, but we try to keep the office area as clean as possible. The yard is usually full of bags waiting to be moved. We have a crew that’s been with us for a long time, and they know the routine. Usually, things get busy around nine in the morning when the first deliveries start coming through the gate. It’s a noisy spot because of all the heavy machinery nearby, but you get used to the sound after a week or two. We don’t really do much in the way of fancy meetings. Most of our talking happens out by the loading bay or over a quick cup of tea in the break room. Being in the industrial estate means we are surrounded by other factories, so there’s always a lot of activity on the road. Sometimes it’s a struggle to find a good parking spot if you come in late. We just keep our heads down and manage the stock. It’s a simple life out here in Lodhika. The sun gets hot in the afternoon, and the shed gets warm, but we keep things moving along.
