Mulchand Tekchand Adwani Co.

Our shop is right on MG Road in the Bada Bazar area. It’s been under the Mulchand Tekchand Adwani name for as long as I can remember. The area has changed a lot over the decades, with new buildings going up, but we’re still here in the same spot. It’s a busy corner of the market. We deal with various goods, keeping things moving from morning until late evening. The floors are a bit worn down from all the foot traffic, but that’s fine. We don’t see any reason to change things just for the sake of looking modern. We have our regulars who come in every week. They know us and we know them. It’s more about the relationships than anything else. Sometimes we run out of space because the shipments come in faster than we can sort them. We just stack things up and work through the piles. It’s a bit of a maze back there in the storage area. My grandfather used to say that a busy shop is a good shop, even if it’s a bit messy. We don't use any fancy computers for everything; a lot of it is still done by hand in the ledgers. It works for us. We just focus on getting the orders right and making sure everyone who walks in gets what they were looking for. Bada Bazar is a loud place, full of energy, and we’re just one small part of it on MG Road. We keep things simple here.
