Kishan Cement

Kishan Cement is located right on Sant Kabir Road in Rajkot. We are in the Khodiyar Krupa building, specifically in Street Number 3 of the Sadguru Ranchhod Nagar area. It is a busy part of town, and you can always hear the sound of traffic and people moving about. Cement is a heavy business, and our days are filled with the sight of grey dust and the sound of trucks backing in and out. The shop is on the ground floor because moving heavy bags upstairs would be a nightmare. We’ve seen this neighborhood change a lot over the years, with new shops opening up and old ones closing down, but we’ve stayed put. Most of our customers are locals who are fixing up their homes or small contractors working on projects nearby. We don’t go in for big advertisements or loud slogans. We just open up early, sweep the front, and start the day. There is usually a bit of a wait for the morning tea, and that is when we catch up on the local news with whoever happens to be around. The office part of the shop is just a small corner with an old wooden desk and a few stools. It gets a bit cramped when three or four people are inside talking at once, but we manage just fine. Working with cement means your clothes are never truly clean, but we don't mind the mess much as long as the work gets done.
