Masoom Primary School & Play House

Masoom Primary School & Play House is located right near the 60 Feet Ring Road and Kalawad Road in Rajkot. It’s a busy intersection, so we have to be careful when the parents are dropping off the little ones in the morning. We started this place as a play house because there were so many young families moving into this part of the city. The school is designed for small children, so we have lots of bright colors on the walls, even if the paint is peeling a little in the corners. We have a small area with some toys and a slide for the play house kids. The primary section is a bit more structured, with regular desks and chairs. It’s always noisy here, between the kids playing and the traffic from the Ring Road. Our teachers are mostly local women who have a lot of patience. They spend their days helping the children learn their alphabets and numbers. We don't have a big fancy website or anything. If parents want to know about us, they usually just walk in and ask. We try to keep the atmosphere relaxed so the kids don't feel too much pressure. It’s a lot of work looking after so many small children at once. We just focus on keeping them safe and teaching them the basics before they move on to bigger schools. It’s a simple, local place for the neighborhood kids.
