Innovative Kids First Step Pre School

Innovative Kids First Step Pre School is located in the Jawahar School Building, right on Pedak Road in Rajkot. It is a pretty lively spot because we are dealing with very small children who are just starting out. Since we are on Pedak Road, the area is always buzzing with traffic and people going about their business. Our space inside the Jawahar building is filled with colorful drawings on the walls and lots of toys scattered around the floor. It is never quiet here, that is for sure. We have kids running around from the moment we open the doors until their parents pick them up in the afternoon. We don’t use any fancy teaching philosophies or corporate language; we just make sure the children are safe and have something to do. The rooms are set up with small chairs and tables that are just the right size for them. Sometimes there are tears, and a lot of times there is laughter, which is just how it goes with toddlers. The staff here are mostly local women who have been working with kids for years. We don't have a big fancy playground, but we make use of the space we have. It is a bit chaotic at times, especially during drop-off and pick-up, but it is a good kind of busy. We just focus on giving these kids a place to play and learn their first letters. It is simple but it works for the families in Rajkot.
