Jay Sardar Patel High School

We are based in Gondal, which is a part of Rajkot. The school has been here for many years now and the building shows its age in some places. There are cracks in the plaster and the paint is fading on the outside. But it's a solid place and it serves the local families well. We start our day early when the sun is still low. The front gate is always a bit stiff to open in the morning. We don't have any air conditioning, so we rely on the breeze coming through the windows. Sometimes the dust from the road blows in, but we just wipe off the desks and keep going. Our playground is mostly just dirt with a few trees on the edges. The kids like to sit under the shade during their break. We don't have a big library or a computer lab with new machines. It’s mostly just books and blackboards here. The teachers have a small room where we keep our bags and eat our lunch. We’ve worked together for a long time and know each other's families. It's a very simple setup. We follow the state board rules and make sure the students do their homework. There aren't many big events, just the usual school routine. It’s a quiet life in a quiet town, and we’re just a small part of it. We do our best with what we have.
